‘理所当然’ ------ 最愚蠢的以为

最近，电话坏了。90% 的时候不能拨电话，不能接电话，不能传短讯，不能接短讯。习惯依赖电话的我，真的是超级折磨。

可是，就因为这样，却更珍惜每一次可以用电话的时间。大概要尝试大半天才能拨到电话给他。好不容易拨到电话给他，却在两分钟后断掉。真得很想他妈地骂粗口。可是，突然听到他的来电铃声，我会高兴得跳起，然后珍惜那短短的不懂几分钟可以和他说话的时间。

很讽刺的是，因为电话坏掉，我们没有时间吵架。因为电话坏掉，没有时间说很长的话，所以都说些甜蜜的话。虽然谈话时间便少了，可是感情更好了。突然发现，当身边的事情开始变得不再是理所当然，我们才会开始学习珍惜。要不然，平时都是在滥用。

突然发现，我有很严重的‘理所当然’病态。我会觉得对我好是应该的，我会觉得买东西给我是疼我的表现，我会觉得每件事都应该和我商量。然后，我会忘了珍惜，我会因为他没有做到我所谓‘应该’的事情而大发雷霆。

错，错，错，大错特错。世界上没有理所当然的事。他没有必要对你好，如果你对他不好。他更没有必要爱你，如果你忘了珍惜。有谁会毫无保留的包容，又有谁永远不会抛弃你，就连父母也未必会这样。（要不然就不会有孩子被抛弃的新闻。）

‘理所当然’是最愚蠢的以为。要戒掉，一定要。就单纯地因为我不想失去他。

回去才那么一个星期，却是幸福满足的一个星期。有他陪伴的submission，格外有力量。

然而，才短短的一个星期，我们也吵了一次大架。刚巧回去的时候，我在赶submission，压；他，工作量也超大，压力。当两个同时有压力，同时又想另一半能分担压力的人碰在一起，摩擦就发生了。那天，星期五，我submission的前一天。

我说，‘我做不完了，你可以帮我吗？’

他说，‘我很压力，我可以出去透透气吗？’

我说，‘就今天而已，你不是已经答应要帮我了吗？你现在竟然说要离开？’

他说，‘我已经留在家一个星期了，难道我现在要出去一下也不能吗？’

就这样，两个人越说越大声。两个人都觉得各自的情况比较重要。两个人已经忘了体谅。两个人就酱闹翻了。他气冲冲地离开房间，而我也闷闷地继续我的工作。一直到第二天早上，两人才气消。

现在回想，如果当时可以互相体谅，就让他出去一下再回来帮我，或许情况就会不一样。可是，当时大家都气在头上，只记得自己的压力。

我想，就算压力有几大，应该学会放下一下下。就那么一下下，放下自己的压力，以轻松的心情面对压力的另一半，让他先发泄出来。或许，在和他分担他的不悦时，会发现其实自己的压力只是小儿科。就算和他分担之后，觉得自己还是很喘不过气，那时候的他也已经发泄完毕，再轮到我吐不快嘛。这样，总好过两人都不愿放下自己的情绪，然后吵架收场。

两个人的相处，真的必须时时刻刻互相体谅，尤其在大家都心情不好的时候，更加应该试着站在对方的角度想一想。这很难，我也知道。可是，两个人在一起，最重要的是开心，不是吗？我不希望因为我只注重自己的情绪然后失去一个和他分担和了解他的机会。

很多时候，我们只是太过于放大自己的烦恼而已。如果争吵以后才发现原来他一直背负着那么大的压力，而自己只是因为没有买到喜欢的衣服而生气，那时候才来内疚就太迟了。相信我，那时候一定会超恨自己为什么没有先问他为什么心情不好，而是一直抱怨他的不体谅。

要做到时时刻刻的体谅真的很难，可是它却是维持一段感情其中一个重要的元素。

昨天，一段短短的谈话，绝对可以改变我的一生

一直都很想出去

For being able to reunion with my cousin that I have been admired since I was a small kid

He has been my sweetest big brother

We hold our hand when we walked when we were small

I used to follow him wherever he went

We grow up together

And we used to share many things together

However, things changed when we didn't meet for ages

The last time I saw him was probably 5 years ago

We didn't even talk to each other as we met at his working place with my family

I went for dinner with these 3 guys yesterday

At first I was quite worry because I was only close with 1 of them

We used to organize an event 1 year ago and we had never contacted each other again except 1 of them who i was quite close with

However, it end up with a fun and relaxing moment

It has been a long while that I talk and laugh so much with strangers

It has been a long while that I feel comfortable and relax with strangers

It has been a long while that i feel pampered

I feel loved for the first time after all those 'i-wish-to-let-go' incidents

Pathetically, the feeling of being pampered was come from friends that I only meet for the second time

All those small actions did make me feel warm and appreciated

I almost forget that everyone deserves to be treated well

I almost forget that there are still tons of good people with kind heart out there

22nd day - archi intern - ACTIVITY AFTER WORK

I have been a month here

There were quite a few of my friends msn or left message for me telling me to jia you as they thought I am having a difficult time for my internship after they read my blog

Does my blog sound like that?

Even myself also not so sure

But it is not really that bad after all

Maybe because I will only be here for 10 weeks but not long term

Or maybe simply because of me

I do look forward for everyday

Not for the work of course

But for the activity after work

I have been either walking around or searching for cheap stuff and good food everywhere after work

I have never like walking especially walking alone until lately

I have never thought that walking can be so much fun, especially when I walk following my feeling

And most of the time I will discover something interesting and amazing

Gonna upload all my experiences here some other day

Reading has been another part of my life too

Doing nothing in MRT for 1 hour time is killing me

But getting books in Singapore is even more insane

It is too expensive for me

Luckily there are tons of second hand bookshop here that you can either rent or bought the book with price much cheaper than the new one

I think it is really worth since all the second hand books are in good condition and even look like a new one

I have finished 'P.S I Love You' and currently is reading 'Twilight'

I just cant live without food

I mean the real food in san's definition =P *cheap and delicious*

Food hunting in Singapore is much more easier

You can find food everywhere and anywhere here

Of course I do not hunt blindly but cleverly *wink*

But most of the time the food disappoint me

Stalls with prize winning and recommended by TV program does not really taste that nice for me

I still think Malaysia food is much better than Singapore food

But still, there are some that worth to try

Going to post that here some other day too

So, basically my everyday routine is just about sleep, play, eat and of course work

And I is really not that bad as you all think

Just dull and boring

But I do try my best to colour up my life here =)

It was weird that something like this pop up

And I click

There were so many sweet real wedding stories and pictures that make my heart so itchy

So, I opened another tab

And searched for this

sshh... never tell my boss that I was doing this during office hour

Take your sweetheart to the exact place where you had your first date. Reminisce a little, and then say something like "We've had an amazing journey together so far, and now I think we're ready to take the next step in that journey. I'm hoping you'll do me the honor of marrying me."
Christmas is a perfect time to propose. Hang the ring box like an ornament on the tree. When the last present has been opened, say, "wait, there's still one more present." Ask your intended to find it, or simply retrieve it and propose.
Another Christmas marriage proposal idea is to wrap the ring box inside successively bigger boxes so that your sweetheart will think the present is very large. As each layer is opened, the laughs will grow. Get down on one knee right as the last box is opened.
Give your sweetheart a sensual massage, and save the left hand for last. As you massage that hand, slip the ring on and be ready to pop the question.

S : Do you think I should work in Sg? I really do not like the boss and he pay me so low.

J : If you do not want to work in Sg where are you going to work then?

S : KL maybe? Actually I have 2 interviews for KL archi firm. And I had just sent around 20 application letters to KL famous archi firm. Hopefully I can hear from them soon.

J : Then go work in KL.

S : But I still feel like working in Sg. If I work in KL, I am going to be all alone and having no one to share my problems and life since most of the friends will be working in Sg. But if I work in Sg, I scare I wont be happy there since I already do not like the job even before I have started my internship.

J : Then how? Work in Sg since you will only be there for 10 weeks.

S : I also do not know what to do now. Worse come to worse I will just follow wherever you go. I am just do not know how to make decision.

J : Sigh, I also not very sure where am I heading. Since now you have a chance, must appreciate your chance. I offer myself to you for all your working problem once a week if I also work in Sg.

S : Really? Promise?

J : Yeah. If only I am working in Sg too. Hopefully I will. Pray for me ya.

This was 2 months ago, the corridor outside my studio, talking in the phone with J.
It was already 2 months, and I can still remember vividly.
It was just 2 months ago, and J had forget everything totally.

Sometimes, when I feel down and lonely, I will think of J and imagine that J is beside me listening to me, sharing with me, and comforting me.

My boss

I never like him since the first time I met him for my internship interview

He did not even interviewed me but try to cut down my salary

It was him who offer me 1000 bucks first and I still have the email as prove

Then he tried to reduce it to 800 during the interview

800!!! is 800!!!

And then after some negotiation he said he will give me 900 bucks with all those lame excuse

WTF

You may ask me then why I now work in this firm

It is because I have no other choice!!

And the main thing is I do not follow him during my internship but another supervisor

There are many other small small thingy that make me dislike him

But what to do?

14th day - archi intern - THE STUPID COMPUTER SYSTEM

Do you notice that it has been all and only words for the previous posts?

It is because of the company stupid kia si lame troublesome system

Every stuff is given a user name and password with different accessibility level which I have the least since I am only an intern here

There are tons of folder that have been locked that I cant even glance through their previous project

The boss is really kia si ha

And he is not even a Singaporean but only a Malaysian with PR

A big CHEH to him

Besides that, we are not allowed to install anything except admin people

The computer will ask for your admin password and user name every time it detects any external source

That mean I cant use any external disk in the firm

No pen drive, no hard disk, no mp3, and even no camera can connect to the computer just to transfer some file

10th day - archi intern - GOING HOME

I am going home

GOING HOME~~~~

One and a half more hour for me to take my bus and depart

Working away from home especially Keith make me feel so lonely and homesick

The routine is killing me

I feel lonely

I feel broke

I feel tired

I feel helpless

I feel lost

I feel empty

And all I need is a proper home to warm and ease me

I am not enjoying working life here, but still not to the hate stage

I am not counting day back to school, but I do not feel like continuing this for the rest of my life

I do not wake up reluctantly every early morning, but I would like to sleep more

Everything is not that bad actually, but I just hope it can be better

7th day - archi intern - THE TRAINING PASS

Today I have been rushing here and there to get my Training Pass settle

It was really tiring to race with time as my stupid boss didn’t allow me to take leave

So I have to go the ministry before I came to work to submit my document and one more visit to the ministry during my lunch break to collect my pass

Finally, I have collected it and it slept peacefully inside my bag

I have no time to even glance on it until I back to my office and get my work finished

However, something went wrong

I can’t find my name on the card

It was an Indian male’s pass

Shit, they gave me the wrong one

I didn’t check the pass but only my passport on the spot cause I was rushing

Which mean tomorrow I gotta wake up very early to repeat the tiring journey and get all the mess done

There were so many things happened lately

Or to be more accurate, was few weeks before I settled down in Sg

And that made me changed a lot which I do not if it was a good change or vise verse

As usual, I was the bad one that everyone put all their blame on me

Whatever, I am numb on that

Just said whatever you wanna said and dislike me

I am tired in explaining while people would never believe me

Maybe it was just because my attitude or my look that I am always the only one that get thing wrong

Things come and go and definitely left a big scare in my heart

I am not ready for any course mate

I was so stupid that do not how to act nothing happen and face all those 'friends' that scold and blame me

I am tired in pretending

Let me be alone and no course mate friend in the university and I would be happier I guess

I realized that I have changed

I do not believe in people anymore

5th day - archi intern - WORKING EFFICIENCY

Yesterday, I finished my work before lunch and sent to my supervisor for checking

When he saw me handing him the work, he was like 'Ha, u finish already? Ok. Ok. Just leave it on my table.'

Then I stood still there after I put down the drawing wanted to ask him what is my next task while he facing his computer screen

You know what respond he gave me?

He looked a bit embarrassed telling me to give him sometime to think of and asked me to take a rest first

As a result, I rest whole day from before lunch until I finish my working hour

Damn

I was so boring and the time pass like a turtle

This morning, I learn from my mistake

I worked 4 or 5 times slower than my usual speed

And that is torturing and make me feel damn sleepy

I took almost whole day just to correct few mistakes of the plan and elevation

My internship company name is APDS architects

It is not a big firm with less than 10 stuffs here
I do not really like the working environment which is too office like

For me, I think an architect firm must be very architecture that play with space and creativity

However, there is none here
*disappointed*

The best space in my office for me is the toilet

And that is one of the reason why I keep on going to the toilet =P

Maybe I will post some pictures here next time as the office computer has many restriction *sian*

Secondly is the office facade which is very Malacca like

However, sadly, the interior really suck with all air conditioning and I cant even find a window opening that you can see beautifully outside

Time pass very fast in office when there is something to do

So far I was just doing simple stuff like amending working drawing, prepare presentation board and presentation slide

Not really architecture at all

And the project is like.... *sigh*

Never mind, just wanna learn as much as possible during these 10 weeks especially my convention drawing

I started to miss my uni life =(

Just like in my studio but this time is not designing but completing and building my boss idea

The very first feeling I get when my boss asked me to change this and that according to his taste was to promise myself to be an architect if I really wanna work in this field

I only want to order people to do this and that instead of being instructed

That makes me feel like a robot

I hungry till no appetite to eat

Mother's day is around the corner and I had prepared 3 presents for 3 Mummys

I was initially wanted to do the tea bag tag which mean I am going to buy tea in tea bag and replace the tag with a love shape one with message on it

It was just easy and sweet right?

Unfortunately, I can't find any tea that I was looking for in tea bag

Then I have no choice but to buy the tea and pack them into tea bag

The project has became complicated

But I did enjoy it especially after all the submission and finally I can spend some time on my loved one

I mix them together then pack into tea bag

I am regret and do not really like my current hair style due to the lousy hair stylist and the lame saloon chosen by the devil Han

Buying COSMETIC

It might be a little bit too old for me to start with this

But for those who know me, I have a really uneven and troublesome face that always demotivate me

But then I think it is a bit irrespective to have a bare face in work field

And since I am going for internship in Singapore (having bare face in public in Singapore is even worse) next month, so I get myself some basic cosmetic

I was wanted to get it from M.A.C

But my money did not allow me for that (I did not want to spend my future 1 month salary just in that)

Then, accidentally I went into STAGE

Coincidentally the consultant was very friendly and offered me a try

And without realizing I was already paying in the counter

I was not sure if it was the best brand to start with
(STAGE is a very first Malaysia Cosmetic Brand with imported cosmetic)

I was just very satisfy with the services they provided and the natural effect of their products

And the most important thing was the price which I can afford

Some may ask why don't I just start up with some cheap cosmetic first

But then with my face condition and as a very beginner, I prefer to get myself a consultant

I get myself a makeup base, foundation, compact powder and make up remover and that had already cost me 300 bucks (Luckily I had a sponsor =P), with 2 free lipstick,1 free lip brush, a membership card and a free make up session

Hmm... I was still not very used to my 'colored' face

It was too weird for me

But then it do really cover most of my imperfection and look more fresh

Hate architecture

Very very very very very very very much

It is so fake and ambitious

All those so-called philosophy and justification are just rubbishes as long as you know the way to fool, persuade and bluff people

There are no hard work and effort in this field except talent and potential

Now only I understand the reason for going through an interview to enter this course

Because you need certain gift in this path

Since I have nothing for this, why selected me at the first place and make me suffer now?

It is too subjective for everything

There is no right and wrong till an extend that totally depend on your luck and mouth

I am very tired of everything

In other subjects or courses, if you are wrong means you are wrong no matter how big or small the mistake is

But here, if your did a very basic mistake, you might fail

On the other hand , if you did tons of mistake but you all your basic things are there, still you might get an A

I am breathless in this pointer and mark based environment

No matter how much you do, people who have talent can kill you within one second

No matter how hard you try, people who have mouth can kick you out immediately

No matter how great your idea is, people who can bluff well can make your idea valueless in few words

When everyone is aiming for an A every semester, I am just wishing that I won't fail

There is nothing you can be done to fight with talent

Maybe I need ten years to get the skill

Then after ten years, people is already ten years ahead than me

What is the point for me to stay here?

I have no clues and no way out

But stuck here and suffer

Stop talking about disappointment and laziness in front of me

road trip part 1 - segamat

15th November

Our road trip started

San san, Han han & Jing left uni with Wei Chin

Followed him to Segamat

We have planned the road trip for quite some time

Finally we can play 'Gao Gao' without worrying about our projects and assignments

The 1st stop : Johor - Segamat

The first thing that caught our attention when we reach Segamat is the high antenna

After we have unpacked our stuff and had enough rest, Wei Chin took us to Tangkak to have the famous beef noodle there which was almost 1 hour drive from Segamat

It was nice but no photo was taken

After the lunch he took us to Gunung Ledang

However, we didn't have a chance to swim there due to the 'fast flowing of water'

I had a disturbing dream last night...

So disturbing cuz it feels so so real....
n for that 1 moment, i nearly did the wrong thing. In my dream. Having my heart jump for the wrong person. that i knew. wtf.

And i feel so disturbed by it even till now.
Disturbed by why am i having such dream. and why 'that person' and 'that wrong thing' of all the sudden ? there's no 'special' connection between us at all. wtf.

and i couldn't help thinking WHY when i saw 'that person' in my dream today.

I can't imagine the consequences IF i tell anyone abt it.

It was mid autumn

Once again, we make it as a perfect excuse for us to go for a trip

JB really has nothing much interesting

Therefore, we went to Singapore again

However, this trip was totally different from the previous trip

As we had spent so much on our last trip, we went for zero money trip this time

We did all the survey before we went there

And we had only spend around 20 bucks each for transportation and meal only =)

Our first station was Chinese Garden

We walked happily to the entrance because we thought it was free as stated in the web

However, we were require to pay 15 bucks each in order to enter due to some exhibition

Since it opposed our vision, we left disappointingly

Then, we took MRT to Station Bouna Vista and planed to take bus from there to Haw Par Villa

It was our first time taking bus in Singapore

We made few funny mistakes understanding the board that stated buses that will pass through the station and the buses destination

However, we did finally successfully reached Haw Par Villa without asking for anyone help *Proud*

With the reason of work stress and coincidentally it was holiday (Actually was just lazy to do our work)

The first trip was during our national day

See, we love Malaysia so much that we still celebrated our National Day even though we at oversea

How to maintain long distance relationship

Keith and I have been together for 6 years

We had involved in long distance for 3 years and this relationship will continue until i graduate or even longer

The longest period that we never met each other was 1 year when he furthered his study in US

It is very challenging for us to maintain this relationship especially we two have different lifestyle and totally opposite daily routine

Keith has a normal daily lifestyle that wake up early in the morning, go work, finish work, sleep

While me, totally different that wake up late in the afternoon, go studio/class, do studio work, sleep during dawn

There is no common time between us two

I mean when he work, I am free

When he is free, is my turn to work

We did talk in the phone everyday but the duration is just around 5-15 minutes

I didn't think it is unhealthy until Keith raise this issue lately

Ok, I admit that it is my fault

Hmm... some tips here to help me strengthen our relationship

1. It is important to be involved in similar activities and hobbies, even though you are apart. It helps you to keep your relationship fresh by increasing the things you have in common in your everyday lives. They will give you more things to talk about that are important to both of you. For example, you could see the same movie, or you could read the same book, so you can discuss about it afterwards. The thing is, by doing this it helps you to do things together like you would do if you were physically together.

2. You may not always have much to say, but it is essential that you have at least some sort of communication everyday. By doing this routinely, it allows the both of you to feel like you are having a part in a relationship. This is also helpful in maintaining an emotional connection with each other and keeping up to speed with each others lives and daily activities.

3. Also, it is important, even though you are apart at the very moment, that youtalk and plan your future together. It is recommended that you do this quite often. It gives you a sparkle of hope, and let's you know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

4. WRITE LETTERS. In this electronic world, it's easy to replace old-fashioned letter writing with email--and sometimes it's more efficient to do so. But when it comes to love, it's better to revert to snail mail. Whether its once a week, once a month, or once in a blue moon, letter writing gives you the opportunity to simmer over your thoughts, grab your favorite pen, and write something that can't be captured in an email. Just think of how surprised your honey will be to get a piece of mail that's not a bill or netflix! He or she will surely return the favor.

IDEA: Make a puzzle letter by taking a sheet of thick cardstock or watercolor paper. Using either watercolors or colored pencils, draw a light-colored scene or design, so as to make your own background/stationary. Write your message over this design. Cut the letter in interesting shapes and put in an envelope. Your sweetheart will have fun putting the letter together before he/she can read it!

5. SEND PRESENTS. Again, this isn't something you have to do every week. Once every month or so is good. And they don't have to be expensive. Just something that makes you think of your honey or an inside joke or a moment you shared together. A book, a Polaroid, a screenprint, or a thrift-store trinket are some ideas. Send a box of fine tea over fine chocolate. Or a bottle of specialty beer in lieu of flowers. 6. CELEBRATE. Being separated during holidays, birthdays, or anniversaries can be difficult. Celebrate these events long-distance if you can't be together. Send holiday presents and take videos of yourselves opening the present you receive from your sweetheart--or do it in realtime with a webcam. If you can't be there to celebrate your honey's birthday, send a party! Pack streamers, kazoos, a candy-filled pinata, and hats, etc in a box and send it.

7. VISIT EACH OTHER. This can be hard to once you've settled into your new, seemingly single life. But it's important to take turns visiting each other so neither of you feels neglected. If transportation starts getting expensive, choose a destination between your locations and meet each other half way. Even if it's for a weekend, it will be worth it.

8. Make your significant other comfortable at all times. This is very important. Making her feel like she is the most spectacular thing that has ever happened to you is one of the most important things you can do.

9. Do things together. Defy the distance. Frequent communication is a great thing when it can be managed in a long distance relationship. However, constant communication over the phone alone may tend to drag people down in the long run. It's important to do other things together besides the usual phone call. Just think... people in short-distance relationships do not spend the majority of their time talking, but rather doing things with each other. Try to replicate this by finding things to do together such as watching a TV show or movie simultaneously.

10. Plan visits. Nothing would mean more to you than to see her, and her to see you. Always have a next visit planned, however difficult it may be. 11. If something's bothering you, bring it up right away.
Small concerns can grow into big problems if allowed to fester. It takes some skill to communicate LD but it can be done. Share your concerns, the trials of being apart, the difficulty in travel, etc. Just like you would if you were together -- the concerns might be different, but there would still be some.

12. Talk about small daily things and keep your partner up-to-date. Since they can't experience it or see it, explain it, talk about it. It's especially important to share your lives this way -- what you're doing, where you ate lunch, the friends you're seeing, what you're doing at work. Email good articles you've read, share websites, books. Takes quizzes on line and share results. This brings immediacy to the relationship.

13. Give each other a task to do everyday. For instance, you can let your partner be an "alarm clock" for you. Set a time when you need to wake up and tell your partner to give you a call on that certain time of the day. Or let him remind you of your appointment. In this way you can be sure thatyou are a part of your partner's daily schedule.

14. Eat together online. Instant Messaging, chat rooms, and web cams can be of great help. Even though your partner is on the other side of the globe, set time to eat together online. It can be your "breakfast" and your partners "dinner", but at least, despite the distance, you still take the time to share a meal.

15. Do not forget to say the magic words "I LOVE YOU" all the time. Even though it may sound so redundant to others ears, for a person you love, it is a sweet sound to hear.

16. Be transparent in everything you do and inform your partner on each and every detail of what's going on. This action will strengthen your trust in each other. Honesty is the best policy, and it plays a very important role in a long distance relationship.

It is always excited for me to go back to this city for its entertainment, shopping, night life, and good food

While the birthday girl was still sleeping

We were already awake and prepared for our picnic

It was a long long journey which took us approximately 2 hours to reach there

However, the view of the journey was breathtaking

The beach was quite with no one

I guess is because of low peak season

We planned to go there to watch sun rise

However, the sun was already high above us when we reached there

Is Your Small Animal Overweight?

Is the “hippity” gone from your rabbit’s “hop?” Or is your hamster too big to even crawl through its own tunnels? How about your guinea pig? Do you notice that your pet is sluggish? These could be signs of overweight pets. One of the most common problems in keeping pocket pets happy and healthy is maintaining their weight in cages. Behavior and diets of these animals has changed considerably since their wild days of roaming fields and competing for territory and mates. Most all of the pocket pets now kept have been bred in captivity for many generations.

These animals no longer require high energy diets to maintain their body weights. Now, when kept as pets, there is a lower energy requirement needed. These animals are now totally dependent on you for food and housing and exercise needs. They no longer have to search for foods, compete for mates and territory, or expend additional energy to maintain body temperatures in a changing environment.

These entertaining exotic pets seldom get the exercise they would normally receive outside of captivity. As such, they tend to overeat and gain weight. Often they are rewarded with treats, sunflower seeds, peanuts and other goodies that contribute to their weight gains. Although most of these animals consume food for caloric intake, some are more prone to overweight conditions. Rabbits and guinea pigs are especially susceptible to weight problems in captivity.

Both hamsters and gerbils can consume large amounts of food and become overweight. These are foraging animals and often hide food in many places in their cage. The tendency is to feed each day and more food is “stashed” away by these entertaining animals, so it is very easy to overfeed them. Lack of exercise wheels and toys also contributes to weight gain.

It is easier to prevent weight gains in many of these pets by controlling their food intake. Remember, these animals are not as active as their wild predecessors and require less food. Many diets now are formulated for specific species of animals. It is very important to feed the proper diet. Also read the directions as there’s usually a recommended feeding amount to give each animal.

Weight reduction in these animals can be difficult and seeking the advice from a veterinarian before attempting to correct weigh problems is important. Withholding foods can be a serious problem as the animal might not receive enough vitamins and minerals. Weigh control is best achieved by feeding a proper diet, increasing the amount of timothy or alfalfa in the diet, and a reducing supplemental food high in energy (fats) such as sunflower seeds, peanuts, etc. Honey treat sticks, raisins, and similar treats can still be given to the animal if you compensate by a slight reduction of the normal diet.

Most important, give these animals daily exercise. Hamsters, gerbils and mice all enjoy wheels in their cage and different interactive toys where they have to “work” for a treat. Habitrails with many tubes encourage exploration of all small pocket pets and are a good source of exercise. Hide treats in the cage so the animal has to look for its reward.

Lastly, always supplement your pet with a daily vitamin source when placing it on a diet. And watch the overfeeding of treats, give your pet a little exercise and play with your small animal to help control weight problems.

Malaysia discussing building Disney park

Would be first such attraction in Southeast Asia

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Malaysia is exploring plans to build the first Disney theme park in Southeast Asia, a government minister said Tuesday.

Effendi Norwawi, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of economic affairs, said the government is in talks with Disneyland operators in Japan and the United States to establish a theme park in the southern state of Johor, near Singapore.

"We are exploring all our options, including this (Disneyland) because in the southern corridor development, we want it to be a comprehensive and attractive region," he was quoted as saying by national Bernama news agency. "So this will include theme park and other attractions."

Effendi said the government hopes for an agreement with Disney, but it is also "discussing with several other parties to get the best option." He did not give details and could not be reached for further comments.

Building a Disney park would likely boost tourism for Malaysia and would pose stiff competition to Singapore, which is building two casino resorts. Tourism is Malaysia's No. 2 foreign exchange earner, after manufacturing.

Walt Disney Co. opened a theme park in Hong Kong in September.

Alannah Goss, a spokeswoman for Disney's Asian operations based in Hong Kong, told The Associated Press that the company constantly assesses strategic markets worldwide but declined to say if Johor is on the list. She said she is aware of ongoing talks.

"We are constantly evaluating strategic markets in the world to grow our park and resort business and the Disney brand," she said. "We continue to evaluate markets but at this time, we have no plans to announce regarding a park in Malaysia."

The Edge business weekly reported over the weekend that Malaysian government officials have made an attractive offer to Oriental Land Co., the Japanese operator of Tokyo Disneyland, to run a similar park in Johor.

The plan is to bring Mickey Mouse and the fantasyland to a 2,000-acre (800 hectares) site in the new proposed Nusajaya township in Johor, it quoted unidentified sources as saying. The 23,000 acre (9,200 hectares) township is developed by government-linked UEM World Bhd.

The newspaper said Walt Disney Co. is interested in the proposed Malaysian park as it will not compete with other Disney parks in Hong Kong and Tokyo due to geographical distance.

Shanghai's mayor said in March that the city is prepared to build a Disney park, but Disney officials have said while talks were underway, no agreement has been reached.

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Walt Disney Co is looking to build a theme park on a 500-acre (202-hectare) site in southern Malaysia, a business weekly reported on Saturday.

Citing unnamed sources, the Edge said the theme park, to be located in Bardar Nusajaya in the Iskandar development zone, would be ready six years after a deal was signed, according to early proposals.

The proposed Disneyland theme park and resort is slated to be bigger than Hong Kong Disneyland and about the size of Tokyo Disney Resort, it said.

The government unveiled a $105 billion blueprint late last year to transform the southern tip of Johor state, which neighbours Singapore, into a regional economic zone for industry, logistics, trade and leisure.

Although the talks with Disney are progressing fast, discussions with other theme park operators, including Warner Bros Entertainment and MGM , have not ceased, the Edge said.

"However, a deal with Walt Disney looks most promising as it has expressed its seriousness and has come out with specifications on its requirements," it quoted a source as saying.

If the talks with Disney are successful, a deal is expected to be signed by the middle of next year, it added.

Malaysia's state-controlled UEM World is developing Bandar Nusajaya, a township in southwest Johor.

The 2,200 square km (850 sq miles) Iskandar zone has so far clinched at least $6 billion in investments, including a $4.7 billion maritime park proposed by Dubai World and Malaysia's infrastructure-to-energy group MMC Bhd

Usefull tips to save petrol

I am staying in Hostel Kolej 12 which is far far away from my faculty

I have to drive back and forth at least once a day

I tried to do all things once to minimise the need to drive
(eg. Go to Jusco only when I have at least 10 stuff to buy)

I also planed to cook in the room or just order delivery during my dinner

However, I still doubt that if I should move to studio

My main concern now is only MONEY

I have to paid at least RM350 per month just for petrol

Furthermore, I have to ssave for my Cambodia trip

My life is misserable now

I started to become stingy which I hate so much

Please forgive me

I HATE INFLATION

Since I can do nothing to change the fact of increasing price of petrol

And it is almost impossible for me to not use the car

Then I shall learn to squeeze every kilometers I can out of every liter of petrol I buy

No choice

Below are some of the things we can do to get that extra bit of mileage while minimizing our petrol consumption

1	Use Air Conditioner sparingly Air conditioners can use about 10 per cent extra fuel when operating and is a super drain on your engine's efficiency, so don't use it unless you really need it. If you're within one or two minutes of your destination, turn off the air conditioner and let the fan continue to circulate the cold air in the car. It won't become unreasonably warm in that length of time. And don't buy into the myth that it always takes as much gas to drive with the windows open as it does using the air conditioner. There is some disagreement on the subject, but most advice says that at low speeds and stop and go traffic, it costs less to drive with the windows down, but on the highway, using an air conditioner is cheaper.

2	Drive slow and steady (I do not think I can follow this tip,just reduce a bit ok la) Drive between 45-55 kmph. The faster you drive, the more wind resistance your vehicle will face. If you speed above 60 kmph, you will waste your petrol. Tests have shown that you can get up to 40% extra mileage at 45-55 kmph as against 80 kmph. I know this will be frustrating to all our dear Malaysian drivers, but heck, isn’t this all about petrol saving tips? I'm not saying we should all travel around at 55km per hour, but if you reduce your speed by even a small amount the rewards are substantial.

3	Switch accessories before start Switch off all power consuming accessories before switching on the ignition so as to minimize battery load during the next start.

4	Strut tower/anti-sway bars Purchase and install strut tower and anti-sway bars. They increase control, which allows you to corner without loosing speed - which makes it easier on the brakes and requires less gas to accelerate.

5	Avoid Jack Rabbit Start Eliminate jack rabbit starts (sudden acceleration from idle). It wastes fuel. Accelerate slowly when starting from dead stop. Don't push pedal down more than 1/4 of the total foot travel. This allows carburetor to function at peak efficiency. Roughly 1% in fuel economy is lost for every mile per hour driven above 55 mph.

6	Putting your car gear into neutral or park position When sitting at a set of traffic lights or in traffic for an extended length of time, put your car into neutral or park. This can save a significant amount of fuel.

7	Clutch and Accelerator play Don’t manipulate the clutch and accelerator to stay stationary because it wastes fuel. Use handbrake instead.

8	Shut your Windows. Shutting all your car windows while driving will make your car more aerodynamic. This will improve your car's fuel efficiency. Driving with them open drastically reduces your fuel efficiency, far more so than putting the air conditioning on when motorway driving. An open window can increase fuel consumption by up to 20 per cent. For a person who spends RM100 a week on petrol, 20% savings could mean saving RM20 a week, which adds up to RM80 a month. That is money one could pay towards his/her bond or be money saved for a rainy day.

9	Check & Replace Air Filters Regularly. Air filter prevents dust from Fouling the engine. Dust causes rapid wear of engine components and increases fuel consumption. Cylinder bores wear out 45 times faster in engines without air-cleaners. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve your car's gas mileage by as much as 10 percent in petrol consumption. Your car's air filter keeps impurities from damaging the inside of your engine. Not only will replacing a dirty air filter save gas, it will protect your engine.



10	Get your engine tuned up! Tests on a large number of cars prove that you can save as much as 6% by tuning your car regularly. If your engine emits black smoke, has poor pulling power or consumes large quantities of oil, get it checked immediately at a reputed garage. A delay may prove more expensive in terms of petrol and oil as compared to the cost of an overhaul. A poorly maintained engine can cut gas mileage by 10 to 20 percent. Make sure the spark plugs are firing properly. Replace them if they are due. Be sure to use the proper thickness of fluids in the engine, transmission, and axles. Otherwise, an engine has to work too hard and unnecessarily consumes more fuel. Dirty engine oil is also thicker, making engines less efficient. An engine with fouled plugs, dirty air filter, erratic timing, a sputtering carburetor, or weak compression will gobble up fuel and perform dismally. Always make sure the engine timing is appropriate. Be sure to follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, and act promptly if you sense any unusual sounds, smells, or vibrations. The bottom line: A tune-up is an excellent investment and could easily pay for itself over a long period of time.

11 Pump up your tyres

Keeping your tyres inflated is one of the easiest and most important things. Saving petrol means saving money one can do to improve fuel economy. If a range is recommended by the manufacturer, the higher pressure should be used to maximize fuel efficiency. Deflated tyres run hot and jeopardize safety. It will also cause the tyres to wear out prematurely, affect the vehicles adversely, and hurt the fuel economy by increasing the rolling resistance. Tyres lose about 1 psi pressure per month due to air loss caused by the tyre hitting holes, bumps and kerbs. Therefore, the tyres should be checked at least once a month. Just 1 tyre deflated by 2 psi will result in a 1% increase in fuel consumption.

12 Use thinner tyres

Tyres with thick width will improve the handling of your car. However, it will also increase your car's fuel consumption. Thicker tyres mean more rolling resistance, and thus will consume more fuel.

13 Start up the car properly

With today's cars, it is not necessary to prime the engine first by pumping the accelerator pedal repeatedly.Do not crank the engine excessively This only wastes fuel.When starting the engine, idle it no more than 30 seconds to warm it up. An engine will warm up faster on the road. However, avoid sudden acceleration before the engine has warmed up sufficiently.

14 Drive in high gear (overdrive)

The engine runs most efficiently between around 1,500 and 2,500 rpm. To maintain these low revs you should change up through the gears as soon as practical and before the revs reach 2500 rpm. For automatic transmission cars, you should always switch on your overdrive to help save fuel. Overdrive will allow your engine to change gears at lower revs. It also puts your transmission into an "economy" mode and lets it engage the final "overdrive" gear when cruising to keep the rpms extra low, thereby increasing fuel economy.

15 Travel light

Avoid carrying any unnecessary weight in your car. On the average, every 50kg added load in your car will increase fuel consumption by 2%.

16 Anticipate traffic ahead

A driver can reduce fuel consumption by up to 10% by anticipating traffic conditions ahead and adjusting the speed accordingly, and avoiding tailgating and thus unnecessary braking and acceleration. Accelerations and decelerations waste fuel. Braking and abrupt stops can be minimized by not following too closely and slowing down gradually when approaching a red light. It takes up to six times as much fuel to move a car from a dead stop than it does for one moving at just a few km/h.

17 Don't let your engine idle

Minimize fuel wasted in idling by stopping the engine whenever your car is stopped or held up for an extended period of time. Idling more than a minute consumes much more fuel than restarting the engine. By having the engine switched off, you will save more fuel than is lost from the burst of fuel involved in restarting the engine. The net increased wear and tear from this practice is negligible.

18 Pump petrol early morning

when the ground temperature is still cold. The reason is the colder the ground is, the more dense the petrol is! When the ground gets warmer petrol expands,so buying in the afternoon or in the evening returns lesser litre you’re buying.

19 Fill up when your tank is HALF FULL.

The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

20 Do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode when u’re filling up petrol.

If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you’re getting less worth for your money.

My first yoga

I went to learn Yoga with CY yesterday

It was my very first time

I used to resist Yoga as I never like stretching and my body is never flexible

However, due to my 'Fat Gaining Rate' and my health problem

I had make a huge decision in joining Yoga class

It was scary when I first entered the studio
(Luckily CY was there to accompany me. Thanks =) )

Facing new teacher and so many others learners

The movement was easy but the stretching was terrible

And to hold the movement was extremely tiring

I did this

and also this

However, I did enjoy the class for sweating and stretching

My body felt kind of release after the class

I think it is going to be the best way for me to release my tension and for therapeutic purpose

Hmm... looking forward for my aerobic class on this coming Wednesday

10 ways to a flat belly

1. Dance it off

All types of vigorous dancing is great for burning fat and calories - around 400 an hour - and dancing is a good workout for your waist too. Salsa, ballroom and belly dancing are particularly good.

2. Swap your chair for a fitness ball

You might feel silly but sitting on a fitness ball instead of a chair when you watch telly will help tone up your belly. You have to use your muscles, especially your stomach muscles to balance and stay on the ball.

3. Sit-ups

Yes, we know you've heard it before but sit-ups or crunches can help fight the flab. You won't see a change immediately and you may need to build up to doing 10-15 sit-ups a day. Always hold your hands by your ears rather than behind your head so you don't strain your neck or back.

4. The reverse curl

If you find sit-ups difficult try the reverse curl instead, it's just as effective but easier on the back. Start by lying on the floor, with your hands by your sides. Lift your bum off the floor using just your stomach muscles and keep your arms and shoulders on the floor. Hold for a few seconds then lower yourself back to the floor. Repeat 15-20 times.

5. Yoga

It's not just for celebs like Madonna, Yoga can be done by anyone at any level. It's great for toning all over but especially good at toning the belly because of the breathing exercises that are involved, and because it helps your posture - and good posture leads to a flatter tum!

6. Check your posture

To keep your tummy flat you need to keep your back strong too as the band of muscle around your waist also helps support your spine. So stand up straight and keep your back and stomach muscles taut.

7. Crunch and twist

Once you've been doing sit-ups for a while you'll notice that they've become a lot easier, don't give up and don't just do more, do them differently instead. Keep your hands by your ears and raise yourself up slowly then twist your body - from the waist, not your back or shoulders - and try to touch your knees with your opposite elbow, i.e. your right elbow comes up and across to touch your left knee. Untwist and go back to your starting position. Repeat on each side 10-15 times.

8. Touch your toes

If you're bored of sit-ups, try this exercise instead. Lie on the floor with arms straight up, pointing at the ceiling. Slowly curl yourself up and forward so that your hands are pointing towards your toes - and if you can, touch your toes. Then return to your starting position but do it slowly to stretch the muscles. Repeat 15-20 times.

9. Hold your stomach in

This is easy exercise if you're feeling lazy. Just holding your stomach in when you're walking or waiting for the bus can help tone your belly.

10. Could it just be bloating?

If it is, then there are loads of things you can do to get a slimmer waist, almost overnight. Swap fizzy drinks for still drinks, chew slowly and take pre and pro biotic supplements, which will increase your good gut bacteria and lessen the bloating.
